The Swampland Jewels
Maquoketa Summer Concert Series
Thursday, September 11, 2025 | 6:00 to 8:00 pm
In Main Street, Downtown Maquoketa
"Freeman's Country Dance" appears on The Swampland Jewels self-titled debut album. Here's a video of the band recording it at Flat Black Studios.
Whew! What better way to bid good-bye to an amazing summer of music in Main Street but with some rollicking, infectious, can't-stop-dancing Cajun/Creole/Tex-Mex tunes.
The Swampland Jewels weave blues, roots with a touch of Czech flair -- spanning Iowa to the Gulf Coast and a stop in Austin, Texas.
Their eponymous debut album is available from Bandcamp, and was supported in part by the Iowa Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Pulido's Tacos food truck at 5:30. Music at 6:00. Free admission. Family-friendly. Bring lawn chairs. From 4:00-9:30 PM, Main Street will be closed between Make A Splash and Smiles on Main.
